Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi SCA!Long time lurker, first time post. I have an appointment with the dermatologist tomorrow for the first time in about 2.5 years. I'm looking for some discussion options to have with my doc tomorrow/ recommendations on some things for acne scarring. Please know that I am a medical professional so I've seen too many horror stories to want to do anything crazy dangerous to my skin.I was on accutane about 3.5 years Ago for severe cystic acne. Since then my face has been pretty manageable but I was left with some rolling/ice pick scarring and discoloration on my cheeks( see pics below) that really bothers me. My skin is oily and I break out occasionally but I believe this is because my skin is dehydrated. I was just recently able to clear up some perioral dermatitis that I got after tape was ripped off my face post surgery. I have no real routine to speak of right now. I use a clean and clear soap on my face with my hands or clarisonic, then moisturizer after. I need to get a sunscreen. I have had 2 TCA peels in the past at 12.5 percent. I haven't seen much improvement in the scarring even after those treatments. I haven't taken the best care of my skin and now I need to really get proactive about it.
