Beauty Tips For Body Care
So... a while ago, I posted after I had an IPL treatment about how the results were phenomenal. They were indeed phenomenal... for like two weeks. Then, my spots came back, and seemed even darker than before? Being the persistent person that I am, I went back for another round of treatment, thinking that maybe it was one of those situations where you need multiple sessions in order to see results. My tech turned up the intensity, and again, my spots were gone (after a pretty ugly period, which I again covered up with HCB, which worked like a charm), but only for about two weeks. And... like before, the spots are back, except they are even WORSE than they were after the first treatment!Aside from being mortified about how I gave myself self-inflicted darker spots (oh, the irony), I started looking into what might be going on. And I'm not sure how I didn't catch this before, but apparently asian skin can sometimes respond to IPL by getting darker, rather than lightening. I had read that people with darker skin might want to avoid IPL, but I wouldn't consider myself particularly dark, so I just didn't think much of it. Anyway, it sounds like the spots will lighten with time, but I'm going to be working through some chemical peels and Vit C serum for a few months to see if I can accelerate that process. And... no more IPL for me. =(Just thought I should put this out there so that people are properly warned.
