Background I've dealt with acne cysts, epidermal cysts, boils, and ingrown hairs periodically for many years. I feel like I'm pretty well versed when it comes to giant gross skin lesions, I've dealt with them many times.Current situation I've had this thing on my shoulder for a while-At least four months, possibly up to seven months. My husband and I have both tried to pop it many times-I've tried warm washcloths, soaking it in hot water, massaging it, picking at the surface to try to release what was inside, squeezing as hard as a grown man and woman could-Nothing has made this thing pop.Today, I noticed it was larger than the last time I paid attention to it (couple weeks ago). I decided I was going to pop it once and for all, so after leaving a hot washcloth on it while in the shower, I stood in front of the mirror and put all my strength in to popping it. It didn't pop. Instead, one of the tiny blood vessel looking things in it broke, causing blood to pour into the growth. It did not leak, the skin never broke despite my best yet misguided efforts, but it bled under the skin.Advice I'm looking for Please someone tell me they've dealt with something like this. Does it sound like a deep cyst or boil you've dealt with? Here's a picture , it's about half the size of a penny. It's never been painful, but usually when I get a cyst they hurt.
