[Acne] Is acne a problem of the current era?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So a little bit of back story, I was born in Colorado but my parents immigrated to the states from Bangladesh. As a teenager I had some mild to moderate acne. But I remember that my parents would freak out, like my mom was completely horrified by a few pimples. It made me super self conscious and I tried all the (horrible) acne products you could find at Target. Anyway when I was around 16 I literally had to sit my parents down and explain to them that acne is pretty normal for someone going through puberty. I finally understood why they reacted the way they did when I was growing up; they had literally never seen acne before they'd moved and assumed that it was something that only white people got. My mother went to a freaking all girl's school and she didn't know a single person who had acne (it was a catholic school so they weren't even allowed to wear makeup).I know its not a race thing because I see tons of teenage bengali kids with acne here. I've been trying to think of why my parents generation didn't experience acne and I just can't figure it out. I mean the girls used to put lemon juice and coconut oil on their faces everyday. Sunscreen didn't even exist in stores. Why did they have such perfect skin???? Has anyone else had this experience with their parents?Edit: I called my mom last night and her theory is that almost all of the food now a days is either genetically modified or injected with hormones (possible underlying reason why stopping dairy helps so many people?).
