Beauty Tips For Body Care
This is my first post so please go easy on me...i'm still not sure how to do this right.Im a 24 year old female and I have had oily/combination/sensitive skin since I was about 10 years old. Ongoing battle ever since. In the recent year it has improved significantly with the help of a dermatologist, however there are still a few things I think i have to change in my routine to get the best results.Basically, when i wash my face, before i apply any of my topicals and lotion my skin feels tight and dry. then it feels better once i out on all my topicals. Eventually it turns into an oily mess - usually within an hour or two of washing. For the past year i was on Minocycline 100mg 2x day. My routine was as follows:Morning: - wash with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - apply Azone 5% gel to face - apply Clindamycin Solution 1% to neck and décolletage - apply Cerave PM moisturizing lotion to face, neck and décolletageEvening: - if wearing makeup, remove with albolene makeup cleanser (I cannot stand the smell of coconut oil so I use this instead. i only wear makeup once or twice a week.) - wash with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - apply Adapalene gel .1% (3 nights per week- too strong for me to use everyday) - apply Azone 5% gel to face (4 nights per week) - apply Cerave PM moisturizing lotion to face, neck and décolletageAfter a year, my dermatologist told me last week she is taking me off the Mino and switching me to Spironolactone 100mg 2x day. The reason for this is my acne was clearing up all over, but cystic acne was beginning to form on my cheeks and jawline when it had never happened there before. My derm said that the minocycline had sort of changed my acne and now the hormonal acne wasn't clearing but everything else was and the Spiro would change that. I just started it 3 days ago, so well see what happens. Nothing noteworthy just yet...I am still following the same routine, the only thing that is different is that I added the Clarisonic Mia to my cleansing routine. It has made the flakiness from my dry skin improve and my blackheads all over my cheeks and nose are gone. (i have been doing this for roughly 5 months now)Can anyone offer any advice to me as to what i can possibly do to tame the oiliness? Any suggestions as to what might be a better moisturizer? Do i need to try a different cleanser?***Adding/changing products scares me since I have such sensitive skin. So if theres a way I can change things to avoid any major irritation...that would be best. I realize that seems a little unrealistic, but hey, a girl can dream right? Thanks for the help guys! Let me know if I'm missing anything...like i said, this is my first post ever so I'm doing my best...
