Beauty Tips For Body Care
Been talking with people on here over the past few months about burns but since it's summer I'm now seeing a ton of posts about sunburns. And over the internet I'm seeing a ton of ways to treat sunburn, many of which make me cringe even more than putting baking soda on a lemon wedge and rubbing that into your facehttp://imgur.com/a/LrSdeDo NOT put ice on a burn. AVOID IT. I don't care if it's sunburn, bacon grease fell on your arm burn, hot glue gun along your entire finger burn, dropped a marshmallow on your bare foot at a cookout burn. Don't do it. Ice will actually inhibit the healing process, I was taught way back that it seems to give immediate relief by shocking and killing nerves but no clue how accurate that is, since I can't find any science behind it.http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/10/health/10real.htmlIce does however inhibit healing. It can mimic/actually cause frostbite on very delicate skin that is doing its best to recover. Baby that skin. Use aloe liberally, if you want to get DIY then make a bowl of black tea and soak the burn in that (Tannic acid in the tea soothes burns and promotes healing). Take pain inhibitors as recommended by a doctor, or OTC stuff that you are aware can safely be taken by you in whatever situation your body is in.Avoid the damaging life hacks, please take care of skin in a delicate situation this summer. We've all been there where we try to use sunscreen but miss a spot or forget a reapplication. Some of us have even spent eight hours rebuilding a deck in the middle of high summer without even one sunscreen application and let me tell you the aftermath of that is not fun. We all make mistakes and regret it. Don't injure yourself further.
