[Routine Help] Tweaking my anti-aging routine -- add micellar water and up my retinol, maybe?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm a longtime Paula's Choice user, with a brief, hive-y foray into R&F products not long ago (thus my username). I'm back to my PC routine now and would like to tweak it for maximum results. Specifically, I'm thinking about trying something with a higher retinol percentage than I currently use.My skin: 47yo, fair with freckles (sun damage), fine lines, some strong horizontal forehead wrinkles, has always tended toward dry with flaking if I don't moisturize well, but in the past year I'm seeing some shine in my t-zone and occasional pimples on my chin a little below the corners of my mouth. I live in Southern California, where we are heading into our long, hot, dry season.A.M. Routine 1. Wash with water. 2. PC Moisture Boost toner (I use this kind of as a morning cleanser.) 3. PC Resist Super Antioxidant Serum (has no retinol), sometimes with a drop of PC C15 booster (vit. C). 4. (sometimes) PC Skin Recovery moisturizer 5. PC Resist Cellular Defense Moisturizer SPF 15I reapply the SPF every 3 hours if I'm going to be outside.PM Routine 1. PC Calm Redness Relief Cleanser (normal-to-dry version) (this is a newer addition but I seem to be tolerating it well, no dryness or tightness) 2. PC Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner 3. PC Resist AHA 5% (4-5 times a week) 4. the same PC antiox serum as above, again often with the C booster 4. PC Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer (contains .01% retinol, according to this (4-5 times a week) 5. PC Skin Recovery MoisturizerThinking of addingTo morning routine-- micellar water as a cleanser. I don't like to overdo it with cleansers (in the past they have really dried me out), but I don't know if the PC toner I'm currently using is cleansing enough (or at all, really). Another option might be that Hada Labo foaming cleanser everyone raves about at AB?To evening routine: a stronger retinol product (working up to 3-4 times a week). This SCA post clued me in to the fact that my PC Barrier Repair moisturizer only has .01% retinol. I would like to test a stronger version--perhaps the PC Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol serum with .1%? (Currently out of stock but I have some samples.) Or would it be worth the expense to give their 1% booster a try? I guess the question is: jump from .01% to .1 or 1%? Or is there some other retinol product you love?Want to try, not sure when I have a bottle of the Hada Labo hyaluronic acid lotion (toner really) that people seem to like so much both here and at AB. I bought it to try on my daughter, who has severely dry skin on her limbs. Thinking about working it in to my morning or evening routine.Any other anti-aging products you would recommend? I've studied the sidebars and I think my routine has most of the bases covered: niacinamide, peptides, Vit C, retinol (but maybe not enough), AHA. I tried BHA but it made me break out in places I don't normally, so I aborted the test after 2 uses. I have a PC hyaluronic acid booster trial size but haven't used it (except successful patch testing) -- probably overkill if I'm adding the Hada Labo lotion (also successfully patch tested but nothing more).(By the way, I credit SCA with being the source of info that has actively improved my daughter's difficult skin condition--to a much greater degree than the entire derm dept at our local children's hospital. She was in constant discomfort before and is feeling much happier about her skin these days.)
