Beauty Tips For Body Care
Background: My skin and I have been fighting for a while, after being on good terms for most of my life (I'm in my late 20s). A month and a half ago I got a CC bomb on my chin and cheeks thanks to a bad face wash choice. And then I made it worse by not realizing the cause right away and over-exfoliating instead. I tossed the face wash, also changed my shampoo to a non-SLS one because that was the face was problem, and went on a bare-bones routine. Warm water, Thayer's toner, and sunscreen moisturizer in the morning; OCM (grapeseed with tea tree), Thayer's, and argan oil at night. I started using a lot more argan than I had before, and cut out exfoliating except for with a gentle washcloth until this weekend when I dared use BHA once. My skin had been trudging along, not really getting any better with all of this, for 3-4 weeks. Oh, and I have skin picking problems, which made everything so much more fun.
Cut to this morning: Most of the redness- gone. CCs- 90% gone. 2.5 active pimples- still there. I'm amazed and baffled- mostly at the CCs disappearing, because they were so damn stubborn. The only thing I did differently was deciding yesterday morning that that's it, I'm not going to touch or pick at my face, and actually managed to do that all day long. I know skin picking is bad, but I didn't realize stopping would work literally overnight... Seriously though, I don't know what I did to summon the good skin fairy. Can a routine change for the better take a while to take effect- and then work all at once?
