[Sun Care] How can I make sure I'm using enough stick sunscreen on my hands? Does rubbing in stick sunscreen make it ineffective?

I use Banana Boat spf 50 stick sunscreen on my hands to prevent aging.I don't like to use normal sunscreen because it is extremely greasy and the stick is much easier to apply.I measure out 1/4 teaspoon of normal sunscreen for my face to get adequate protection but how do I know how many swipes to use on my hand?
