[Sun Care]Got in an argument today with a coworker who said skin cancer from the sun is a myth. Now I have questions for you about being in the sun.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So basically, I have worked with coworkers from Russia/Ukraine/Serbia for around 3 years. I am famous around the office for taking care of my skin any they make fun of me a lot because they're constantly saying that "you NEED to be in the sun a lot," "how do you get vitamin D? The only way you can get it is by being absorbed through the skin," "a little burn is good for your skin." A lot of these things I just brush off because they are opinions or not true, but there has been one guy recently that has been pushing me a lot to tan because he "doesn't like how pale I am." Today i got in an argument with him because he said getting skin cancer from being in the sun is a myth and so is premature aging (from being in the sun) as well.I got so angry because my dad had skin cancer and he was told one of the main causes was probably from him being in the sun constantly throughout his life (lived in california) and never wearing sunscreen. Then I thought about it....Why am I angry? Every country thinks differently about skincare and the sun. The most obvious being asian skincare and american. A lot of the asian ladies I know are obsessive about not being in the sun so they wont tan, and prematurely age. They spend ages on making sure the sun wont hurt their skin when they do go out. On the other side a lot of Americans I know will put on sunscreen but have a sort of lackadaisical attitude about it. We sort of try but dont really try because we are just worried about burning in the present and not for the future. So my questions are these: Me, being someone who is trying to take care of their skin for the future/when I'm older and trying my damnedest not to get skin cancer. What are some ways that I can put forward to taking care of your skin when you're in the sun for people who physically recoil when you talk about putting sunscreen on (actual response after the recoil, "you dont need that. Why would you put all those chemicals on your skin?")? Saying my looks wont last forever and im scared of cancer dont work for people who dont believe in it.Secondly, I am curious if anyone knows, are people in that area of the world taught specifically that being in the sun for very long periods of time is actually good for you and not bad? It amazes me that all these people believe being in the sun is the ONLY way of getting vitamin D. Its young and old. No specific age.Lastly, all this hubbub makes me want to revamp my sun care stash. Are there any sunscreens for the body you've found recently that you love? I know of all the popular ones, but I'm curious if anyone has found anything new. Hard to get or not.Thank you everyone and sorry for the rambling! I appreciate all your responses.
