[Acne] Large red bump on the tip of the nose that won't go away

Posting this for my girlfriend.She has had a large red spot/bump on the tip of her nose that lasted from September last year to March this year (more than half a year). Although the red has mostly disappeared by this point she still has a mark on this area that looks like a scar. She said that this problem appeared in Middle School, High School, and now Graduate school.... each time disappearing and reappearing. Today another large red area appeared on the same spot and she's worried it's going to happen again and in general has no idea what this, why it keeps appearing, and why it will never disappear. She did say that she tried to get "stuff" out of it at some point by pinching it, which was probably not a good idea.Basically, any suggestions or information about what this could be and what to do about would be much appreciated.
