[Product Question] Why oh why am I having such drastically better results with PC's Vitamin C when I've tried countless others that are essentially the EXACT SAME?

I first learned about Vitamin C through this sub, specifically Paula's Choice Vitamin C Serum. So I started using it and was absolutely amazed. But the cost started to add up and I looked into other options. I did some research on what makes a good vitamin C serum. (The right Ph, %, Ferulic acid, etc.) and found some others that looked to be the exact same as Paula's Choice. (And much cheaper!!) So I started experimenting with some others, and while they were fine, I didn't feel like my skin was as glowy as it was when I was using PC. Thinking maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me, I switched back. I wasn't imagining it. My skin likes Paula's choice vit C better. But WHY? I tried another vitamin C that was the same percentage and seemed to have the same ingredients. What makes them different? Why does my skin prefer the more expensive product?!I swear this isn't a weird advertisement for PC. I hate how overpriced the products are. Especially Vitamin C which is pretty easy to DIY.
