[Selfie][Acne] 1 cycle (4 week) progress with hormonal acne after making small lifestyle changes

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi all, I wanted to share my recent progress with hormonal acne after reading through a lot of advice on here. Ever since I started traveling regularly for work and got back on birth control I’ve suffered from bad breakouts on my lip and chin area. I don’t know if it was caused more by the travel or birth control as I started both around the same time. These 2 pictures were taken exactly 4 weeks apart on the day before my period when I tend to have the worst breakouts. #selfieI know I still have a long way to go but I feel good about the progress so far and hope that as time goes on I can continue to get my face under control. The cool thing is I was able to see these improvements by making small lifestyle changes without adding extra products into my routine. Here’s what I did based on advice from SCA:Started drinking at least 1 cup of green tea every day. I love tea so I was basically already doing this, but I would notice if I went on vacation or something and stopped drinking it my face was more likely to break out. Now I just take tea everywhere and I’m the crazy tea lady. :)Introduced spearmint as a supplement after hearing about how it can help with hormonal acne. I bought Traditional Medicinals Organic Spearmint herbal tea from Whole Foods and drink 1-2 cups every night (again with the tea…haha). If I don’t have time to make tea I also have spearmint capsules and I’ll take 2 of them before I go to bedSwitched out my regular toothpaste with a non-SLS toothpaste. I bought the Tom’s of Maine sls-free toothpaste at Whole Foods.I bring clean pillowcases with me when I travel to put on the hotel pillows. And then there's my routine, which I’ve been doing for the past 5 years or so based on a visit with a dermatologist: AMWash with Neutrogena oil-free acne washStridex padCeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing LotionPMWash with Neutrogena oil-free acne washCeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing LotionMy face still isn’t where I want it to be and I’m willing to give it time, also willing to change up my routine as it’s pretty simplistic right now. If anyone has suggestions for how I could improve my routine or other ways to get hormonal acne under control please let me know and I will try it (my skin type is oily and acne prone by the way). Thanks for everything!
