Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm looking for a purely physical sunscreen to use for daily sun protection. After reading over the links in the sidebar, and looking at some of the recommended physical sunscreens on this sub, I've have a (possibly dumb) question. How exactly does the percentage or concentration of a physical sunscreen's ingredients affect its quality? For example, I found this link here: http://www.justaboutskin.com/sunscreen-percentage-concentration/. It basically says that in general, you should go for the higher amount of active ingredients, or for the higher amount of zinc oxide.I noticed that one of the recommended physical sunscreens on the wiki has active ingredients of zinc oxide 5% and titanium dioxide 6% with an SPF of 50. The others offered somewhat similar formulas as well.I ran into this brand of sunscreen here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008U2Y5ME/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER (Cotz Sensitive SPF 40), which has 20% zinc oxide as the only active ingredient but still offers an SPF close to the other products. So anyway, sorry for the ramble...am I just being paranoid or do the active ingredient concentrations really matter? Should I just focus on how much SPF/PPD a product offers? Also, while I'm at it, any recommendations for physical sunscreens (preferably more zinc oxide based, 40/50 SPF) that aren't too expensive, maybe around ~ $5-8 an oz?
