[Routine Help] Will using an AHA help with PIH if I don't use any other products?

After reading about PIH in the sidebar I was wondering if I could skip the "treatment" part, or is it necessary to do both? Especially since I'm pretty new to the whole skincare thing, I'd prefer to start slowly and work my way up to a more advanced routine if needed.
