[Personal] I'm so thankful for y'all, I just needed to tell someone.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I hope this is OK to post. I have been struggling with acne for years. Mind you, it's not terrible, but it's there and it's annoying. On top of that, I am oily and sensitive. AND, on top of that, I've been on birth control for forever.Last month, I had the worst breakout of my life. I went from having relatively clear skin (I have some CCs and large pores, but NBD) to having 10 deep, cystic pimples on my cheeks and chin. They were red, painful, and very deep. I could not tell what the cause was, so I started eliminating products one by one, starting with the newest. While I did this, I consulted ScA and you guys have been so helpful with answering my questions and with the info in the sidebar.I eliminated my foaming cleanser per instruction here and noticed my skin didn't feel tight any more. I started just using lukewarm water in the AM to give my skin a break from over cleansing. Lastly, I started looking at the products I put on my face daily (moisturizer, primer, and foundation). What I found was:My moisturizer wasn't doing me any favors. It never really sunk in and a layer was always there. (Olay Sensitive in 15 - I've used this for YEARS)My new primer may have been the primary cause of my BIG breakout. (My skin did not like Smashbox's Light Primer for some reason). My foundation wasn't helping either. It was very silicone-heavy and thick. While my skin plays OK with silicones, I think this particular formulation was not good for me. (RIP, Tarte Amazonian Clay)In comes ScA. I simplified my routine. studied ingredients, and consulted some others who know a lot about skincare and cosmetics to get to where I am in the last month. What happened next made me so friggin' happy that I can't stop talking about it to anybody who will listen. My giant pimples shrunk down and are now flat, my PIH is starting to fade out, and I now only have to blot every 6-7 hours instead of every 3-4.Here's my new routine thanks to y'all. (It still needs some improvement, and I'm working on introducing some new actives - currently patch testing!)AM1. Rinse with lukewarm water on face2. Use Simple Micellar Water to get any remaining eye-makeup or moisturizer off.3. Moisturize with Paula's Choice Resist Super Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 to help with fading PIH during the day: I am obsessed with this stuff. It also doubles as a very nice primer for my makeup and looks great worn alone.4. Apply Frankie Rose Matte Perfection foundation. Love this stuff, I had an esthetician recommend this product to me long ago and I blew it off. I remembered it and I'm so glad I did. (It DOES have a slight fragrance, but I am not sensitive to fragrances).PM:1. Remove makeup with Simple Micellar Water (not my favorite since I wear long-wearing makeup. I'm going to use this up and look for something else next time).2. Cleanse with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser3. Nip/Fab Glycolic Fix 2.5% (currently patch-testing Paula's Choice 8% AHA to introduce gradually). Let dry.4. Spot treat with Panoxyl 3% Gel. Let dry.5. Moisturize with Cerave PM (I was pleased to patch test this with no acne issues as Cerave in the tub broke me out pretty bad).Anyway, THANK YOU to this sub for all of your help and for making me stop crying in the mirror every night. <3
