[Skin Concern] Why is it frowned upon to sleep in makeup but we wear it all day sometimes a lot longer than a night's sleep?

Kind of a shower thought. At a Halloween party last night, many drinks were had and I couldn't be bothered to go through my entire routine. I got all my makeup off with cotton rounds and micellar water, and got my AHA on before getting into bed but when I woke up this thought popped into my head. Curious to see what SCA has to say!
