Beauty Tips For Body Care
It seems like a bunch of users here are fans of the Neutrogena UltraSheer line like me. It's even at the top of the suncreen recommendations list in the Wiki! It's a great sunscreen, however, a lot of users use the 30 SPF or the 45 SPF versions. These versions are NOT photostable, the SPF 55 version IS.Photostability is a measure of how much a sunscreen degrades under direct sunlight. Among other UVB-filtering chemicals, Neutrogena's sunscreens contain avobenzone, which is the most photounstable filter. Over time in the sun, this degrades, making your sunscreen less effective, and requiring frequent reapplication.Neutrogena's SPF55 UltraSheer contains higher concentrations of the UVB filters Homosalate and Octisalate, among others, and is considered photostable by MakeupAlley. If you currently use the SPF30 or SPF45 versions of this popular sunscreen, I would recommend using SPF55 or higher.Sources: More information on photostabilityList of the chemicals in many different sunscreens
