[Review] My collection!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi r/skincareaddiction! Since I have nothing to do today, I thought I'd show all the products I use as well as a mini-review on each product. Some of these products are very popular or expensive so I know it can be helpful to read up unfiltered reviews (looking at you Sephora) before you spend your cash.DISCLAIMER: I own these products because I have disposable income to spend them on. I am not in any way attempting to show off, merely to provide information. There are excellent affordable skincare products for all budgets, please spend wisely and within your means! No skincare or make up is worth missing a bill or a phone payment for. Here is the album! but I will go through each picture individually. I have oily acne-prone skin.Picture 1: What stays in the bathroom! These are items that I use right out of the shower. I mostly prefer to keep skincare in my vanity as the bathroom can often be too hot.Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser: My HG drugstore cleanser. I used to use the foaming one but even with my oily skin, it was far too drying. I use this in the morning for a nice gentle cleanse that doesn't strip my skin. I have the one made for all skin types. Excellent product that takes forever to run out.The Body Shop Vitamin E Cleanser: Sigh. Okay I know we shouldn't be using skincare high in fragrance but my mum gave this to me just before she died so I don't want to hear any criticism. I was sceptical of it but I tried it and holy shit this stuff is like crack for my skin! It brightens my skin and is VERY moisturising. I know the fragrance is probably secretly eating my skin away but shit son I do not care - after a day in the hot Aussie sun, this calms my skin right down. I usually use it at night for my second cleanse.Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser: Picked this up in the UK and have no regrets. When I'm breaking out and I just want to get rid of all the grossness, I reach for this right away. You can even apply it fairly thick and leave it for about 2mins as a makeshift mask. Not much longer than that though because it is a cleanser and those shouldn't sit on your skin for long. Use this as an alternate second cleanse in the PM.Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: I use this to remove my make up and as my first cleanse in the PM. Amazing at removing make up without stinging my v sensitive eyes.Lush Bubblegum/Sugar Plumb Fairy Lip Scrub: I have two because the second one was limited edition for Christmas and I have no self control. I have very dry chapped lips and I love using this stuff to exfoliate off all the dead skin. Tastes great and doesn't leave gross microbeads around to ruin the environment. I use these every second night. The Body Shop Blue Corn Scrub Mask: Essentially a clay mask. They discontinued it in Aus so I had to pick it up in England. I use it once a week to draw out impurities. It is quite strong and makes your face have that cold tingly feeling but it isn't painful and works well. Do not use on burnt skin however.Pixi Glow Peel Pads: These are strong as hell. I use some strong exfoliants and these STUNG like hell. However if something stings for a little and doesn't burn, it's usually okay. If something burns on your skin for an extended length of time, wash it off and scold yourself for not patch testing. I only use these once or twice a week if my skin is looking gross. They do a great job and are great on the go.Picture 2: What lives in my vanity!Cetaphil Moisturiser for Dry to Very Dry Skin: Yes I know I'm oily but I used this during the Accutane years when I was dry and I have no desire to change. It doesn't clog my pores and I only require a tiny amount. I use it in the AM under sunscreen.Ego Daily Face Invisible Tint Finish SPF 50+: ALL DAY EVERY DAY. I live in Aus, SPF is no joke. This works well under my make up and gives excellent protection through the day. Doesn't clog pores and very affordable.Pixi Glow Tonic: I shouldn't have to boast about how good this is because I think everyone knows. It's a wonderful light 5% glycolic acid with rose and aloe to calm the skin. I use this in the PM after cleansing for a gentle toner. I can put stronger exfoliants on top of it without destroying my skin but my skin is very tough and resistant to exfoliation, it may be too much for you to have both.Drunk Elephant Glycolic Serum: I alternate this with my Good Genes. It's a good product but takes longer to see results than the GG. I use this on days when I'm a seriously oily hot ass mess. I never experienced any peeling or redness even if I put my Luna Oil on top of it. I only use this in the PM.Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum (Vit C Serum): My HG Vit C serum. Lasts for ages, has an air tight and light resistant bottle. Worth every dollar I paid for it. It seriously brightened up my skin and I only use it in the AM.Luna Oil: A really solid alternative to a full-on retinol product. It contains a trans-ester retinol housed in some other great soothing ingredients. I know the traditional advice says not to mix BHA's/AHA's with retinols - and for a stronger or prescription strength retinol I completely agree. But Luna is so gentle and housed in such good ingredients that it is not an issue for me.PC 2% RESIST BHA: Can't say enough good things about this, onto my second bottle! I use it in the AM only (after cleansing, before Vit C) and it has done wonders for the closed comedones on my forehead.Lush Rosy Cheeks: This actually lives in the fridge but I stuck it in here. This is my "treat yo'self" mask as it honestly just calms and moisturises my skin. But it smells great and feels amazing. I don't like all of Lush's masks (some of them have straight up LEMON JUICE in them) but this and Oatfix are two great ones.Sunday Riley's Good Genes: My love, my life, my everything. Even though I'm oily this had IMMEDIATE results for me, as in I woke up the next day looking fabulous. I don't use it every night anymore, I use it when my skin is dehydrated and feeling a little dull. Perks it right up again! I will also use it under primer for a big event as it makes the skin so smooth and amazing for make up. 10/10 worth the money.Artemis Oil: When I found out this was going to be discontinued I raged very hard. Just because some dumbasses don't get that skincare isn't supposed to smell nice, the discontinued it due to lack of sales. This is an incredible oil with great antibacterial properties. I use this in the PM and sometimes the AM (as needed) to assist with active breakouts and to brighten up my skin. I can't say enough good things about this and I'm sad I can't get it anymore.Pixi Skintreats Rose Oil: I was sceptical the first time I tried this as my face HURT like hell. It felt so tight and horrible. It was only after I left London that I realised it was the shitty hard water making my skin hurt. I use this maybe twice a week if I feel like treating myself. It smells lovely, feels luxurious and has a nice calming and brightening affect. I probably won't repurchase as getting products to Aus from the UK is pricey, but I don't regret purchasing it.Simple Eye Cream: Do not buy this if you have sensitive eyes like me!!! I just wanted something to heavy-duty moisturise my lids and under eye - woke up to eyes swollen shut! Do not waste your money. The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisturising Cream: Yeah yeah fragrance blah blah but again, mum gave this to me before she died. I use it as my PM moisturiser. I barely have to use any and again - like crack for my skin. I wake up with baby smooth skin.Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Medicated Gel: Use this on open pimples/ones that are just getting started in the PM on top of my moisturiser. I prefer it to benzyl peroxide and it works really well.PC Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Retinol: This is basically a very luxe serum for your skin packed with antioxidants. I use it only 1-2 times a week when I feel like my skin needs a break from heavy products in place of the Luna Oil. It's a great product but expensive for what it is, so I use it sparingly.Picture 3: Lip Care!Carmex: My old battle comrade. Got this when I started Accutane and never looked back. I know it dries some people out but I love it.The Body Shop Born Lippy in Watermelon and Passionberry: Again, a gift from mum. I use these on top of Carmex as it smells awful and I want to give my boyfriend a break from smelling the stuff. Plus it's a little bit of my mum. I like them. And there we have it! I hope my boredom has produced something fun to have a read of. I always get people asking me to compare the DE Glycolic and the Sunday Riley Good Genes, for a detailed review, Stephanie Nicole made a great comparison video. From my perspective I love them both but I feel they do very different things. The DE takes longer to show results but is still a great product. If you're dry however, I'd just stick with the Good Genes.Feel free to ask any questions below! Thanks guys!
