[Routine Help] Recently got into retin-a, skin is becoming more dry because of it. I read vaseline helps, how do I properly bring vaseline into my routine?

I started using retin-a few weeks ago and noticed my skin is becoming more dry because of it. I read on some threads here that using vaseline helps, but I can't find when to use it and how to properly use it. My current routine in the morning is simple, cleanse+moisturize+sunscreen. Night is same but without sunscreen and add the retin-a.Do I use vaseline after everything else and how do I properly apply it on my face?
