[acne] what is the best thing to do after popping a pimple and now left with a small scab and redness?

I know I know, I shouldn't have popped it at all in the first place but it had to be done. I had the same red mound on my face after leaving it alone for three weeks. Finally I went in and removed a lot of white stuff. The next morning (now) it is completely flat but just bright red with a little scab. What can I do now to protect it and promote healing?
