Sorry if this is old news or has the wrong tagSadly, the Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Fragrance-Free Moisturizer used to be my holy grail product. So, this post is also part rant.I haven't used/bought it in maybe a year, buying just the regular unscented moisturizer to save money.So, when I bought it again last Wednesday, I should've been more attentive to the bubble stating "40% more vitamins". I think that those extra vitamins have caused a really adverse reaction - my face was suddenly hot and red in places (splotchy), and burned if I put lotion on it. It was also dry and flaking in some places.Because I'm an inattentive idiot, I used the moisturizer 2-3 times before I clued in that it was the reason my face was suddenly red and irritated. I guess I also just had so much faith in this product, because of my prior experience, so I didn't want to believe it was the culprit. :(Regarding the difference with the new formula, the side panel of the package says "Reformulated with 40% more vitamins than before" and "VitaNiacin Complex with Vitamins C and E, exfoliates to enhance skin's natural self-renewal process [...]".As a side note, Beautypedia has noted the formula change, but has not posted an updated review.I've tried to compile a spreadsheet comparing the ingredients of the old formula to the new formula, and I'm having trouble getting an accurate list for the old version. However, I do suspect it's the increase in vitamins and possible over-exfoliation that gave me trouble.Other people with hardier skin may have no problems, but for those of us with sensitive skin: be cautious. Patch test the new formula (don't make my mistake).Oh, and if anyone has tips for skin recovery, please feel free. To soothe and recover, I've just been cleansing with Spectro Jel, moisturizing with Eucerin Original Cream, following with Sunplay Super Block (in morning) / Aquaphor (at night).Link to photos of my skin irritation (even ~48 hours after discontinuing)I'm a sad panda.
