Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've had cystic acne for decades. I've been on Accutane numerous times, as well as antibiotics and birth control pills. Some pills worked for awhile, but after a time, I'd start to break out again. I've probably spent thousands on OTC acne products as well, only to be continually disappointed. The past couple of years, I tried OCM using hemp and castor oils. I saw some improvement, but nothing to rave about. I tried different ratios, etc., but didn't see any serious improvement.Recently, I thought I'd try the OCM but just use mineral oil alone. (Like I said, I'll try anything). While waiting for my mineral oil to arrive from Amazon, I thought I'd try some petroleum jelly since I already had some in the house and it was unscented. By this time, my skin was in such a mess that even if it didn't work, it could hardly make it any worse.I put about a quarter size amount of plain petroleum jelly in my hand and rubbed it until it started to melt, then put it on my face. I rubbed it all over for about 1-3 minutes. Then, I took a warm washcloth and wiped it off. I applied my makeup without any other products, then at night, I did the same routine as the morning; apply, rub for 1-3 minutes, wipe off.On bigger spots, I would apply petroleum jelly at night, but only on the bigger ones, not all over my face. Here's the surprising part: I started to see results after my first couple of times trying this method. The eruptions started to calm down and the large cysts looked less red and angry. (I didn't think to take pics at this stage because I really didn't have much hope it work).I'm 3 weeks in and almost all clear. I still have a few stubborn cysts on my forehead, and one on my temple, but they are going down and are less red and inflamed. My chin is almost all clear, (still a couple of whiteheads). My cheeks are clear and my nose is clear. I may not be one of the lucky ones that can boast of perfectly clear skin, but I will take "mostly clear" any day.I have to say I'm thrilled. I know that many people condemn the use of petroleum jelly. I've read a lot of the pros and cons and I understand the bias. I'm sure it won't' work for everyone, but for those who have tried everything, I wanted to offer an alternative.I know what it's like to wake up and want to cry because your skin is so bad. I know what it's like to want to hide because you're ashamed of what you look like. I've been there, believe me. It's a debilitating condition that leaves mental and emotional scars as well as physical ones.I hope that my story can help someone and offer a bit of hope. I know it won't work for everyone, but maybe it's worth a try. Blessings to you all.
