[Skin Concerns] For those of you who've had Laser Skin Resurfacing, is it worth it?

I have wanted to do it for years, but fear of something going wrong (and the price-tag) has stopped me from going forward with it.I know it takes a few sessions to get to a place where you're seeing very significant results, but I'd do anything for flawless skin. I'm just scared of the wounds getting infected from a cold sore flare-up or my skin just not healing. I have very dry skin. I was on accutane when I was younger; my skin scars very very easily.
