Beauty Tips For Body Care
Here's the trigger warning pictures, tagged because if I saw this somewhere I'd be extremely triggered to mess with my face. Lucky me that it's my own skin. Background: I dont smoke, I've been a vegetarian since I was 10, recently (a month) into being a vegan and juicing. I hardly if ever wear makeup (mainly to not make my acne worse). I am also unfortunately dealing with Compulsive Skin Picking for over 10 years now (I fluctuate with the extent at which I do, some weeks I don't, other weeks I go over board. It's a lack of control/boredom issue). I am losing my mind over my skin. It just keeps getting worse. I thought last year I had bad acne, and I now realize I had it so lucky just dealing with occasional cystic spots and some white heads when I was lazy. I thought for some time it was cheese that was flaring me up since I worked in a pizza place. Cutting that out hasn't seemed to change anything.I have cystic acne around my chin, mouth area (occasionally the high points of my cheek bones) and really bad closed comedones around my chin, up my cheeks and pretty regularly on the underside of my jaw.I found this sub a few months ago and was introduced into CeraVe (Moisturizing Cleanser and Cream) which at first was amazing, I realized I had previously destroyed my moisture barrier. My skin looked plump and smooth, blemishes were disappearing, I was over the moon. And for some reason because I had such success with in the 2 weeks of using it I decided I could cut my routine down to just nightly. Cue face returning to hell and a few picking sessions. When I tried to use it as I used to it didn't have any effect on it seemed. My face looked as shitty as normal. I've decided to go on birth control, for its acne helping affects, and it's really helped the cystic acne chill out. But I still have these terrible comedones from the cheek down practically. Some of the marks are scars from spots, the ones around my chin are little assholes that wont leave. The third picture of my under eye bothers me because I feel like it looks like I have orange peel looking skin.Currently, I am back to using the CeraVe again when I shower, every other day or after a run. I pat it on, let it sit for a moment and then splash water until I feel it's removed. Afterwards I let it air dry, no towel, and then use witch hazel as my toner, tea tree oil on my scars and bad spots and let that dry before lightly putting moisturizer on. I hardly use any, because it seems the more I use the more acne I have in the morning. Mainly on my forehead, nose and under eye, where it hasn't had any problems and then whatever is left on my fingers I rub on my cheeks and jaw. What am I doing wrong? Besides the obvious picking that's making everything worse. I'm not even certain what skin type I even have and I'm lost and don't know where to start.Sorry for the novel, thank you to whoever reads and has advice or suggestions.
