[Routine Help] [Acne] How can I tell if a new product is causing pimples or if they're happening for another reason?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I [23/F] have been pretty lucky for most of my life in the sense that I've never really had any acne or many pimples. I have dry skin usually (or dehydrated? I've never been sure how to tell the difference) but I think it also verges on normal sometimes when during the summer/humidity. Through my teens I pretty much just splashed water on my face and called it a day, but now that I'm getting into my mid-20's I wanted to improve my routine.I stumbled on this sub a few weeks ago and decided to give the recommended routine a try to see if I could be taking better care of my skin. I started by introducing a sunscreen (the Neutrogena Sheer Dry Touch one), and then after a couple of weeks a moisturizer (CeraVe In The Tub).I've been using the moisturizer for about a week now, and I'm really enjoying it, but I've noticed a couple large (for me) red pimples starting in areas of my face that I don't remember seeing pimples within the last 2 days. In particular there's one on my cheekbone and one right under my jawline that strike me as "unusual" (although I did have another pimple pretty close to the one on my cheekbone that was there since before I started using the CeraVe and has mostly cleared up now?). I've also introduced some new-ish makeup products recently (a Maybelline BB cream and liquid highlighter), but they didn't seem to be causing any problems and I've been using them for a few weeks.Since I'm so not used to dealing with pimples, I'm kind of unsure if I should immediately attribute this to the moisturizer and stop or if I should mark this down as a premature newbie freakout and keep going with it for a bit longer to see if it causes anything else or if the pimples just go away? Thanks for your help in advance!
