I spend way too much time thinking about sunscreen and whether I’m applying enough (as one does when they've been reading SCA long enough). I’ve been humbled before by seeing how much it takes to actually fill up a 1/4 tsp. One day, I thought: What if sunscreen came pre-portioned in the recommended dose?With the mods’ permission, I’m posting here about my sunscreen idea called Sun Pearls: https://volitionbeauty.com/campaigns/sun-pearls-spf-30. Basically BALLS! (Commence snickers.)In essence, it’s BALL-in-one skincare: Broad-spectrum SPF + moisturizer + antioxidants. It's meant for the face and I envision it becoming a part of one's sunscreen wardrobe.The product photo is just a mockup. I don’t think the balls can be that small IRL, but I wanted to share this idea here to (1) hear from you and (2) ask for your vote. A vote is an expression of interest and a vote for sunscreen innovation. It's not a commitment to buy anything.Because you all are also sunscreen devotees, I truly am curious what you think and what your concerns or questions would be about a product like this. Example: Ingredient stability is one of my concerns, but the great thing is that Volition (the company making the balls) has labs and cosmetic chemists who could figure out how to make them stable.Ideal qualities in a sunscreen:Strong UVA protectionDoubles as moisturizerDries down to a soft, natural finish (I'm thinking of Biore Watery Essence)No white castWearable under makeup (doesn't pill and not dehydrating)Easy to travel withAm I missing anything?Thanks a lot!Voting is here. Anyone can submit an idea and if Volition thinks it has potential, Volition opens up the idea for votes to measure interest in the product. Sun Pearls is just at the voting stage right now (no ingredients list or prototypes yet), although Volition did check with its lab at the outset and thinks the idea is feasible.
