[Personal] A big 'Thank You' to everyone here.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Warning: Long post ahead, sorry. ;)I want to let everyone in this community know how much you have helped me. My skin is - finally - making progress and it's due to everything I learned on this sub.A bit of backstory: I have had oily skin my whole life. So does my mom so I assumed it was just my genetic blessing. I have always used makeup to cover it up and only dabbled a little with skincare. I had a (very) basic routine and maybe a mask for fun every now and then. About a year ago, my HG primer (No7 Beautifully Matte Makeup Base) was discontinued and I was at a loss. I spent so much money trying every primer under the sun to no avail. I did however learn that silicone in products only makes things worse, which was a huge realization for me. Once I started looking at ingredients in my makeup, it took me to looking at ingredients in my skincare. In trying to understand what all these things meant, I found this sub.At first it was all so overwhelming. But the more I read, the more things started to make sense. I wasn't moisturizing enough. I was using scrubs that were way too harsh (I'm looking at you St. Ives). I wasn't giving my skin anything that was beneficial, so why would it look good? I had to give it some love so it could love me back.Certain ingredients started standing out to me, such as gylcolic acid and niacinamide. I looked at the ingredients of what I knew worked for me and used that as a starting point to start incorporating new products in my routine. The majority of them got returned but a few worked really well and I kept them around. I apparently have very weird and picky skin and things just don't seem to work for me like they do others. After a lot of trial and error, I have managed to build a pretty solid routine for myself that is finally showing some great results. It wasn't easy though. I was so discouraged and so ready to give up, not that long ago actually. But this sub helped me to remain engaged and helped me to have more confidence in what I was doing. Before, my entire face and neck were an oil slick by the end of the day, coating all the texture and bumps. Now by the end of the day I have a few little oily spots but that's it. My skin is smoother and brighter and looks healthier. I still have a ways to go but at least now I know I'm on the right path. And it's all thanks to you guys. So to everyone here - thank you so much!!!! I couldn't have done it without you, seriously. This sub really does help people and I hope you guys don't forget that!My current routine: AM: •La Roche-Posay Toleraine Purifying Foaming Cleanser •Cosrx AHA/BHA Clarifying Toner •Skinfood Lettuce & Cucumber Watery Essence •Dermadoctor Picture Porefect Pore Minimizer •Mario Badescu Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater SprayPM: •Garnier Micellar Water (to remove makeup) •La Roche-Posay Toleraine Purifying Foaming Cleanser •Cosrx AHA/BHA Clarifying Toner •Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid (every other night) •Skinfood Lettuce & Cucumber Watery Essence •The Ordinary Niacinamide & Zinc •Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Power Essence •Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist and/or •Skinfood Peach Sake Emulsion (if I need something heavier) •The nights I don't use Cosrx BHA Blackhead Liquid, I will use either Murad Daily Superfoilant or Skinfood Freshmade Watermelon Mask, depending on how my skin is feeling.I know it seems like a lot but I have found that my skin reacts better to multiple, thin layers as opposed to fewer, heavy layers. I'm still working on my hydrating layers so if anyone has suggestions, I'd love to hear them!Hopefully this helps somebody out there on a similar journey. :)
