Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I did a lot of research before deciding to supplement with fish oil and my findings were confusing at best and controversial at worst. So I'm certainly not presumptuous enough to tell you that you HAVE TO try this if you have hormonal acne or promise that it will solve everything, because it really might not and might even exacerbate the problem. The only thing I can say is that it really worked for me when nothing else did and I hope you might be equally as lucky!A little back story: Around this time last year, I had a salicylic acid peel done by an aesthetician. It made my skin either purge or break out and I had two months of terrible skin and after that I had clear skin for the first time in 15 years--I no longer had any active acne, just pih. By April I had compliments-from-strangers- level of skin perfection. But by June, I could see cysts forming below the surface and by July I was dealing with the worst cystic acne of my life. I altered my diet, I supplemented with spirulina (terrible idea!), slowly patch tested and altered my routine/ actives. But nothing worked.I decided to go back to my basic cleanse, tone, moisturize routine, which also had zero effect. By August I stopped leaving my house because I couldn't go anywhere without people giving me unsolicited skincare advice and I hated seeing people's repulsion at my whiteheads. That's when I started looking into Omega-3's. I tried Udo's choice and while it made me glow and improved my hair and nails, I was still breaking out. I'm talking 2-3 new, painful cysts daily. I avoided fish oil, because the findings were all over the place.I finally decided to give it a try earlier this month and have been taking it daily for 18 days now. AND IT HAS BEEN WONDERFUL! I stopped getting new cysts almost immediately! The active acne stopped being inflamed and painful and the cysts either came to a head and dried out within a day or two or quietly disappeared below the surface. Old PIH and new PIH are both fading quickly and the rest of my skin looks really healthy, too!People have all sorts of claims about fish oil helping to improve their mood, cravings, and their focus, but I can't really comment on that stuff one way or the other. All I know is that it really worked for hormonal acne!I should also note that it's not a miracle product. I never miss my skincare routine, I drink 64 oz of water a day and I have spent the past few months taking active steps to manage my anxiety and keep my stress levels low (therapy and working out) and I have been sleeping more and avoiding processed foods (where and when I can).TL;DR: fish oil supplements, not a miracle product, but may work wonders for hormonal acne!
