[Hair Removal] Sharing my experience: Laser vs. Brazilian Wax with extremely sensitive skin

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Given that it's winter in the U.S. (and prime time for laser hair removal) I wanted to share my experience. I have dark hair and fair skin that is extremely sensitive. In summer of 2016 I got my first brazilian wax from a reputable salon. I had a horrible rash and ingrown hairs afterwards despite exfoliation, lotion, etc. - and in 3 weeks I was hairy again. Not very cost effective at $75/session.In fall 2016, I started a series of laser hair removal treatments in lieu of shaving or waxing. I did 5 sessions over a 12 month period (the recommended interval, skipping the summer due to tanning/sun exposure per the aesthetician's guidance). Most of the 'bikini' area had a significant reduction right away, and took months to grow back in (most hair is gone permanently). And the remaining hair is finer.Pain-wise, they used a numbing cream, and the most sensitive areas were less painful than waxing. That said, the hardest hair to remove is 'down there', and though it is finer, I still shave. Due to hormones, it is unlikely to ever go away permanently (I was told that from the get-go). Recovery-wise, my skin is red and angry for 3-4 days, tops, then it's totally fine.I anticipate that I will need maintenance treatments about twice per year to retard hair regrowth, but to me, it's worth the extra money (still less than waxing overall) for better results and significantly less side effects.
