Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have red, dehydrated sensitive skin due to years of neglect. I am actively trying to repair my skin barrier with gentle cleansing, multiple layers of hydrating toner, squalane oil, Stratia liquid gold, Cerave cream, and sunscreen (AM) and Vaseline (PM).I have a prescription for finacea (Azelaic acid). Some sources recommend using the finacea to smooth out texture and get some dead skin off so that the repairing ingredients can penetrate more effectively. Others say that all actives should be put on hold until the barrier is repaired. I have been kind of compromising by applying the finacea only twice a week, and layering as a final layer before Vaseline, after all the other hydration and emollients. What do you recommend? Is Azelaic helping the repair process or should it be put on hold? Can finacea actually penetrate through all the layers I'm putting under it, or is my method useless? Finally, how important is it for each layer to dry before going on the next layer?
