[Acne] I finally discovered that the TYPE of acne you have should determine whether you use salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Sorry if you guys already know this, but I’ve never seen any posts about this before. I was super excited to find this out and wanted to share with anyone who doesn’t know!Soooo I stumbled across an article from allure magazine that said:"Both products treat acne, but they target different types," says David Bank, an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. He recommends first identifying the type of acne you have—inflammatory (red pimples) or comedonal (white- and blackheads). Inflammatory acne responds to benzoyl peroxide, which fights bacteria that cause zits, while comedonal is best treated with exfoliating salicylic acid, which removes dead skin cells and bacteria from the pores. So last night I applied a 10% benzoyl peroxide topical solution to my red inflamed bumps, left it on while I slept (don’t do this if you have sensitive skin), and behold! My skin was around 50% clearer when I woke up this morning. It’s really drying though so I recommend following up with a good moisturizer.Whole article here
