[Review] The Ordinary Marine Hyalauronics First Impression on Oily/Acne Prone Skin!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello everyone! So I live in NYC and was planning on restocking on my azelaic acid and niacinamide from the ordinary yesterday, and when I went turned out the Marine Hyalauronics launched, and I was intrigued after trying out the tester on the back of my hand. My hand felt more plump, and the workers said they had tried it out that morning and were really enjoying it.I'm 21 and have hecka oily and acne prone skin, but my skin is in pretty good condition as of the past year/two years because of TO products in my regimen. I notice pretty immediately if something is breaking me out, as I'll often wake up with closed comedones a couple hours after using a product that doesn't agree with me (R.I.P. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream) Additionally, sometimes I'll spot a cyst or acne beginning to form, since my face is largely clear and even skin, any redness/texture is pretty noticeable. Here's my usual routine as a gauge to see where/if this will fit into your routine: AM:Wash face with Neutrogena Naturals cleanser (not the makeup removing one)TO Azelaic AcidTO NiacinamideHeritage Rosewater & Glycerin spray w/ a couple drops of tea tree in it (spraying this AFTER I apply the azelaic acid and niacinamide helps prevent pilling!)Ponds mixed w/ a couple drops of Rosehip Oil or Squalane (which I have also mixed in a couple drops of tea tree oil each).PM Routine:Almost the exact same, but I remove my makeup with the Loreal Micellar Water and will sometimes use the Neutrogena Daily Leave on BP mask instead of the Azelaic Acid on my whole face.So I bought it and have used it twice thus far, and here are my first impressions:I've used this instead of my rosewater & glycerin spray as a last hydrating step before moisturizing. It is VERY runny. Like it has the consistency of water. Comparing it to the niacinamide, it is much much thinner. There is a little bit of an interesting scent to this? Like very odd, and I can't pin it down yet because it fades in like 2 seconds. This runniness makes it difficult to apply on the face using my usual technique, which is dropping it on my face with the dropper (without touching my skin of course). If you try that with this product, it just slides down your face like a tear and honestly almost absorbs while its sliding down your face. What I have found to be successful is dropping around 5 drops into the palm of my hand, and using my fingers to just dab it on my face and then pat it in.Immediately after use, theres a sense of hydration and plumping on the skin. It's absolutely non-sticky and really helps to mesh in all my previous skincare steps. I did feel like I had to use less moisturizer, and it slid on far more easily. When I woke up in the morning, my face did look a little more even, and in my T-zone and chin where my face will usually look a little oily in the morning, I noticed far less oil. After washing my face and repeating my routine, I noticed the same thing with my moisturizer sliding on easier and my makeup applying with a similar smoothness. At the end of the day, I really enjoy the Marine Hyalauronics thus far, and do think it's a great lightweight hydrating step in my routine. I think if you have dryer or more dehydrated or combo skin, this product is so thin that it may not be for you. I hope that their upcoming plant hyalaronics is more hydrating but still nonsticky, and a better fit for dry skin. This product reminds me of some Korean Beauty Ampoules I've used in the past, in their in between texture between serum and toner.I do wonder if it will help with long term skin health and hydrating due to it having a nice amount of skin rejuvenating ingredients. I will try to update this post in a week or so with further thoughts, but made this so that people who have no clue what the product is like would see if it might be a fit for them! I absolutely get that first impressions on skincare aren't the end all be all, but I did think that this might be helpful for the large bulk of TO and deciem customers who don't have stores near them and don't have any gauge on what this product is like.
