Can someone please explain why silicones get such a bad rep? Just saw a post on DE insta about the "suspicious 6" which includes silicones, but when I asked my derm, she said there is no scientific research to back up the claim that silicones are harmful for skin.DE doesn't really give a specific reason, just that they're not necessary. Personally, I like the look and feel of products with silicone. Almost all of my products include silicone, and I am super happy with my skin.I've googled about it but I either find scary posts likening silicones to the devil, or posts (usually from professionals) defending them. Is this just fear-mongering, or is there a legit reason to avoid them?
