Beauty Tips For Body Care
For the first time in my life, I’m getting compliments on my skin — feels unreal 😭I have no pictures of what my skin looked previously, but basically throughout my whole life I’ve had acne — little tiny bumps, blackheads, hyperpigmentation, the occasional cyst, etc. It wasn’t super horrific, but it was debilitating enough to my self confidence that I would try to hide my face and hide myself. I remember my acne being so bad in my freshman year of college that I hid myself from my friends and refused to come out of my dorm for about 3 months.Just last year, I had someone in the skincare section of a Nordstrom’s offer me an unsolicited “skin touch up,” citing that I needed it. (Rude af)So I guess I’m still in disbelief that people actually think I have good skin now!!! I have been getting complimented weekly and my god... it feels so good. Granted, I do wear foundation and everything, but my skin without makeup is pretty good too! And honestly, even when I wore foundation before my skin still looked like shit lol. Here’s some pics of what my skin looks like, with and without makeup: https://m.imgur.com/a/2Wt0SHere’s what I think helped the most: - Sleeping well, eating well, drinking water, exercising. I try to sleep 6hrs/night at the very least and eat healthy about 80-90% of the time; I exercise 4-6x a week (weightlifting) with cardio 1-3x a week. I drink anywhere from 32-96oz of water a day, though usually around 64oz is where i get :) - AHAs/BHAs!!! They are a godsend. I use Cosrx and have recently been using GoW mandelic acid, which is seriously amazing. I learned about these thru SCA!!! Thank you guys so much. - Supplements: I take fish oil, magnesium, vitamin D, l-theanine, and evening primrose. I think evening primrose really helps with my skin - Using quality makeup: I don’t know why, but if I use cheaper makeup, it always breaks me out. I try to buy makeup that is more high quality (expensive lmao) and it seems to be doing way better for my skin.My daily routine: AM: wash water with face, FAB moisturizer (the one in the tub) and missha sunscreen PM: heimish all clean balm, cerave foaming cleanser, FAB moisturizer with squalane/rosehip/grapeseed/red raspberry seed oils mixed inAbout 1-2x a week I do a MUAC peel (25% mandelic acid or 40% lactic), and a mask (either one of the origins masks or a homemade mask of oatmeal/honey/fullers clay/etc) and I will sometimes use the Estée Lauder night repair serum.Lmk if you guys have any more suggestions on how to improve my skin even more, or if you have any questions about my routine!♥️
