Beauty Tips For Body Care
I recently lost my insurance, but have been struggling with acne and eczema, so I saved up some money to see a dermatologist. I went into my appointment armed with questions, concerns, and a list of things I've tried that haven't worked - and I was SO optimistic that a dermatologist would be able to address my concerns.Maybe my expectations were too high, but this whole appointment was disappointing and frustrating.I spent 40 minutes in the waiting room - and less than 10 minutes actually talking to the derm. She asked me what I was using for my acne, I told her I was using glycolic acid every other night and salicylic acid every night, and all she said was "Stop using them both, you need a retinoid." She asked maybe a total of two questions, took one glance at my skin, wrote me a prescription, and sent me on my way.(I took a look at the prescription she wrote me, googled it, and realized - it's Differin.)I stopped her as she was walking out of the exam room and asked her about alternatives to using hydrocortisone on my eczema flare ups because I was trying to not be dependent on them, and she said, "Dependent? You've probably been using hydrocortisone for what? A week? You'll be fine." To which I replied, "Until last month I was using it twice a day every day, but thanks." She was very clearly just trying to get me to leave and was so dismissive in the process.TL;DR - I'm just really disappointed I saved my money for a such an underwhelming dermatologist appointment.
