Beauty Tips For Body Care
(I'm not sure how to add a photo of before and after, I will try and add it in the comments later.)Hi, I'm 22 years old, oily skin (which was compromised for a long time and was sensitive and dehydrated) and it's been several months since I'm finally acne-free. Since I was a very regular reddit skincare addict I thought I'd share my progress and what actually helped my skin, I hope I can help someone else, because I know the struggle is real.a little historyAs mentioned I was very interested in everything skincare related and was willing to try ANYTHING to get rid of my acne. I've had severe acne since I was 15. I did go to many dermatologists and estheticians in my teenage years, my parents paid hundreds if not thousands for the recommended products and procedures, NOTHING helped. I later moved to western Europe and spent again excessive amounts of money for drugstore products, pharmacy cosmetics (Clinique, Avene etc), online orders (Korean websites, The Ordinary etc.), I tried food regiments, natural recipes, what not, I must’ve tried everything anyone recommended on reddit, instagram, forums. The only results I got from 2 years experimenting was worse acne, very bad scarring and compromised skin barrier. My skin was always red, dry, and weirdly feeling.actual tipsSo to get to the point - I then gave up and stopped using anything, stopped washing my face (yes, even with water), just let it be. It took weeks for my skin to calm down. The things I then started doing and currently keep doing, because this is what works for me, are the following:*I take vitamins. Just regular vitamins, not specifically targeting anything. From what I’ve read the ingredients that help are C, B3, B6, Zink, Biotin. I also take Omega 3 now and then. *I drink VERY MUCH WATER. I know everyone says it and I used to not take this advice because I was stupid, but drinking much water every day, all the time, really made a difference. *I started drinking lactose free milk. I love milk and I tried to cut it off my diet completely and failed, so I turned to lactose free milk and even though I thought it’s the hormones in milk that are bad, apparently the lactose also had a fault, I don’t know. *I don’t wash my face with water in the morning. I gently clean it with a cotton pad soaked in pure rose water. *I wear SUNSCREEN every single day. *I wear makeup as usual, I even use a high coverage foundation, Im having no problems with it, as long as I clean my face with a micellar water and an oil and soap free gentle face wash ( I still use drugstore products, but I’ve checked all ingredients so that there isn’t anything harmful to me or my skin). I apply rosewater again. Afterwards I apply Vitamin C serum and a very basic drugstore moisturiser. *I do a chemical peel (10% AHA and 2% BHA) once or twice a week. *I do a white clay mask (I mix it myself with distilled water and white clay) once or twice a week after a shower.I still have some bad scarring, I think it can only go away with a laser, but aside from 1-2 pimples when it’s that time of the month, my skin has been staying clear.Sorry for the long post but I really hope this can someone out.
