Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have always loved hot showers, and while I have dialed down the temperature recently in an attempt to wean off them, I just love them. I KNOW its not good for my skin but for me, anything below scalding is lukewarm. Even though I never let the water touch my face I used to get bright red cheeks after every shower, which meant I would only shower at night right before bed.I read a post on this subreddit some time ago about someone using sheet masks while they shower to protect their skin from drying out, and I had a bit of a lightbulb moment.Ive since been applying a generous layer of vaseline/evening primrose oil to my face BEFORE I shower, with the idea that it forms an oily barrier between my skin and the water. (Even though I keep my face out of the hot water, maybe the steam or something was drying it out?)This has actually helped my skin so much and my face is so much less dry and red after showering, I thought I would share!TLDR; Put a protective layer on your face before you shower and it wont be so dry after.
