[Misc] I have a HUGE problem with Paula's Choice and I just had to get this off my chest.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I love Paula's Choice; I really do. However Paula's Choice under the new CEO(s) is in my opinion no longer adhering to her core values which made me respect the brand and become a longtime customer:I am old enough to remember, at 41, when PC introduced non-flashy state-of-the-art, yet reasonably priced products, and was constructively critical (without being snide or self-serving) of sub-par and overpriced beauty products. I read DGTTCCWOM. Customer Care was legitimately helpful and not at all patronizing. That was when Paula was still founder/CEO. She was a bad@ss. I looked up to her as a leader in business and for her ethics. Under new management her Cult Status products are still there and haven't changed formula (PC lifetime users are vocal and retributive if the company changes formulae), and the high quality is still due to her influence. BUT-Under new management prices have skyrocketed, or product sizes have decreased. So much for state-of-the-art skincare that is affordable to the masses.Beautypedia, while still one of the best resources available, has taken a very passive-aggressive tone towards any product that doesn't have ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES UNDER THE SUN, and is even faintly condescending towards some 5-star rated products. I mostly prefer simpler formulas, and New Beautypedia tends not to like some of my favorites.PC is not at all hesitant to give all their own products the highest rating, or to recommend theirs in place of other brands. When Beautypedia was still officially part of Paula's Choice, the prices of products were taken in consideration when rating. I liked that because part of her founding philosophy was that good skin care should be affordable.PC has introduced a BAZILLION new products. If I recall correctly, Paula Begoun was in favor of a simple skin care routine, with occasional stronger active treatments. The list of products and suggestions for routines becomes larger and more Byzantine with the passing of each year. This is something they have dinged entities like Neutrogena for in the past.I have not had any personal experience of negative run-ins with customer service, but I have read accounts. It is disheartening, because I used to read the products reviews on their site and see CS reps cheerfully replying to customer concerns publically, and offering refunds and/or alternative products. "I'm so sorry to learn that this product didn't work for you. Please contact us at ____ to arrange a refund, or perhaps we can find an alternative that may work better for your skin."R&D seems to be immovable when the customer base tries to suggest packaging options that work more efficiently and waste less product. Case in point: BHA 9 packaging is inconvenient as the pump dispenser is poorly controlled, and the cost-to-volume ratio is ridiculous. Customer efforts to appeal for alternative packaging have been stonewalled. I won't buy this product on principle.Anyhow, I will continue to purchase the one or two items I still use, when they are on sale. As much as I might wish all companies were required to operate ethically and with the best interests of the public, that is a tall order as it is not profitable. I will continue to support Indie brands as much as possible. Rant Over.
