Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I was the Clinique counter a little bit ago for some BIY drops, and was given a bottle free because they’ve been discontinued. I felt obliged to buy something for some reason, so I bought this cleanser.I normally use plain plant oil only to cleanse, sometimes Simlple foaming gel cleanser. My dry skin cannot tolerate harsh surfactant cleansers of any kind, even micellar water can dry it out. So I stick with oils and my skin loves it. (I have dry and dehydrated skin, no acne).THE PRODUCT: It’s soap and surfactant free. It’s a cleansing lotion, made mostly of oils and emollients. It’s white, and unscented, has a thin lotion consistency. Pump bottle, which I like. It’s 14 $ or £ for 6.7 oz. I guess that’s a bit expensive, I don’t know.PERFORMANCE: I’m surprised, I really like this a lot. My first test run was washing off a face full of thick Neutrogena Sheer Zinc 22% zinc oxide sunscreen and Clinique Even Better foundation. I wasn’t expecting it to get my face clean. Alas, I had to double cleanse with it, and give myself a nice little massage, but my face was completely clean afterwards. I removed it with warm water and went over my face with a wet flannel. I had only done my face an hour or so beforehand, so impressed. Every time I’ve used it since, I’ve had the same performance. The rinse-ability is awesome, it flushes with warm water so much easier than plain oil, and even easier somehow than the Simple, even though the Simple contains mild surfactants. The afterfeel is both clean, but not stripped. My skin feels cleaner than when I wash with oil or the Simple. There’s less of a soft coating. But not nearly as stripped or tight/dry as when I use, for example, Neutrogena gentle foaming cleanser or Cetaphil foaming cleanser. I’ve tried it just for fun as a moisturizer and it’s not bad. I prefer oils to moisturize but this does the trick as a light moisturizer. And for its price/size, it’s a good deal.Overall I’m glad I bought it. It travels much easier than coconut oil or the soft tube of Simple. I may repurchase for that days that I need a bit more of a cleanse than my oils can offer me.CAVEATS: I don’t know how this would perform with a full face of make up, esp. water proof eye make up. I don’t wear anything like that. (Although that sunscreen I use is super thick and full of silicones) And I don’t know if any of the ingredients would proliferate acne or other skin issues. I’ve put the ingredients below.Water / Aqua / Eau, Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Butylene Glycol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) Extract / Extrait D'Orge, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake, Dimethicone, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Cholesterol, Sucrose Stearate, Sucrose, Caffeine, PPG-20 Methyl Glucose Ether, Urea, Sodium PCA, Linoleic Acid, Propylene Glycol Dicaprate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria), Pentylene Glycol, Polyquaternium-51, Trehalose, Caprylyl Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate / VP Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol.
