Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm sharing this because I feel like such an idiot and hope it might help someone. My skin starting exploding with acne my freshman year of college out of nowhere and I started frequenting the Dermatologists office to try to figure out/treat whatever the heck was going on. Both my Derm and I were convinced that I had hormonal acne because I was breaking out the most on my cheeks/chin. I tried a multitude of medications, but always stopped short of doing Accutane. The meds would work for a while and then stop being effective. You want to know what finally worked after 7 years of having terrible skin? Reading on this subreddit that a fresh, clean pillowcase every night can sometimes help. So, being lazy, I decided to use a hand-towel instead (easier to change nightly) over my pillowcase. Granted, I now have a wonderful routine that is also thanks to this subreddit, and I haven't yet let go on my beloved Clindamycin. So if this is of any help to anyone here is my routine:AM: Splash face with lukewarm water and then put on CeraVe AM Lotion with SPF 30PM: Wash face with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying foaming Gel cleanser for Oily Skin in the shower, put on Clindamycin after (I know you're supposed to use it during the day, but it somehow works better for me at night), then use CeraVe PM Ultra Lightweight Lotion. Then make sure I have a fresh towel over my pillow. So that's what worked. After seven years of having painful, terrible oily and dry skin a towel did more for my skin than spironolactone, birth control, tretinoin, and everything else my derm prescribed. I know those meds work wonders for lots of people, so I was always confused why my skin never cleared up before. So, thank you r/SkincareAddiction , you saved my skin and my sanity.Pics of my freshman self with makeup (check out how puffy my skin is and how my smile lines aren't even right because of how much acne I had) and my skin today sans makeuphttps://i.redd.it/aflpjyvl0mn11.jpg
