[Personal] Raise your hand if you have ever felt personally victimised because of your skincare addiction

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello friends!Ever since I first started using face wash etc. as a teen I have been addicted to skincare. I am now 24, and my collection has expanded significantly as I attempt to remain looking like said teen (joking, that ship has sailed).Like many of you, I have through trials, error and experience assembled a collection of products. They work perfectly for me. I love my skin. It is great. It was not always great. I am now not willing to relinquish a single one. Honestly, they can be pried from my cold, dead, yet extremely smooth, hands. I live in perpetual fear of one of these products being discontinued, and, I confess, sometimes I practice some hoarding-like stocking up behaviour (especially when it comes to TO). I look forward to my morning and evening routines, damn it.This is all well and good, but whenever I find myself in a travelling situation with my friends or family which exposes them to my collection and routine I cop a lot of judgement. "You're a Marketer's dream", "you're a victim of consumerism," "you're spending so much unnecessary money", "you only think you need that many things," "all I do is wipe my face with discount makeup remover pads every five days and my skin is fine," "just buy some apricot scrub when it's on special" etc. etc. etc. I find it very frustrating as I feel I must then defend myself and my beloved products. "My skin cannot deal without them!", "it's my self-care ritual!", "there are many more harmful things to be addicted to! Like meth! Although it probably costs the same!", I'll be the one laughing when we are all 50!" etc. etc. etc.I just wanted to commiserate with fellow addicts, and to ask how you respond to such criticisms of our ~ LiFeSTyLe ~. I feel this is a safe space.
