[Review] The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone. Couldn't find many comprehensive reviews about this product and thought I'd give some feedback after two months of use.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Skin Type/Concerns:Dehydrated/Dry, looking to improve some moderate PIE and acne scarring and increase brightnessPrice:$6.80 USD (About $12 total with shipping) for 30 mL productIngredients:Dimethicone, Ascorbic Acid, Polysilicone-11, PEG-10 Dimethicone (Water free)Directions/Special NotesUse once a day (TO suggests in the PM) AFTER water based products and opposite of the time of day that you use Niacinamide in. A slight tingling sensation can occur in the first 1-2 weeks of use if new to using Vitamin C.Overall Impressions:I know it's inexpensive, but I'm not sure if it actually feels like 30 mL worth of product, maybe 20 or even 15 at best. I do not have sensitive skin at all, but I could definitely notice the tingling sensation for about a week after initial use. It was slightly uncomfortable, but could be a little much for someone who has sensitive skin. This product gave a nice "smoothing" finish to my face, similar to a silicone primer. I would recommend squeezing out a pea sized amount and dotting it all over your face, because it can be hard to disperse evenly in one large amount. I use this product last in my morning routine, since it's recommended after all water-based products. I cleanse, use Thayer's toner, under-eye serum, and my clinique dramatically different jelly, then TO Vitamin C 30%. I only use this after my moisturizer because Clinique's DD Jelly is literally the consistency of water. I'd assume that if you use this with something such as a night cream, you'd put it on before. After about four weeks in, I noticed my PIE scarring going down a little bit along with general redness. It isn't gone by any means, but after two months there is absolutely noticeable improvement. However, in terms of brightening, I can't say I'm convinced there has been much improvement. I suspect that the silicone in this has something to do with that. The first week of use, it also seemed to cause the sebacious fillaments in my nose to become more pronounced. I used stridex pads on my nose, and they seemed to help. After using this for almost two months, I have to say this is the only The Ordinary Product I wouldn't recommend. For the small amount of product you get, the confusing application, and overall results, it really isn't even worth the impressive pricetag. If you have more oily skin and are looking for something to add in your cart to score the free shipping on TO's website, go for it. I was going to stick this out until it was empty, but I gave i and ordered Timeless Skincare's 20% Vitamin C+E Frulic Acid Serum, which is about $8 more than TO's product, but seems to have generally better feedback. I would not recommend this product if silicone products have the tendency to clog your pores, as that is usually not an issue of mine and definitely occurred in certain areas of my face.ETA: It seems like the most effective way to apply vitamin C is on bare skin, and since that’s not realistic with my routine for this product, I suspect that plays a factor in my results. I plan on doing the Timeless Vitamin C serum immediately after cleansing/toning (since the pH is lower then my stridex) and will hopefully see more significant effect!
