[Shelfie] Husband’s shelfie vs. my shelfie — easy to see which is which! + My journey to healthy skin via SCA!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Greetings, SCA! I’m finally sharing a shelfie!I think I FINALLY have a routine I’m actually happy with after about two years of hit or miss attempts. My skin isn’t completely perfect, but it’s honestly at a point where when I look at it I think like “good enough!” I’ll share a B&A when I have more time, but for now, I thought I’d at least share this.I used to spend SO MUCH money on skincare products, and they didn’t do it. I used Dermalogica and Skinceuticals, and it’s possible they would have done the trick IF I had any idea what I was doing when I had the money to spend on those things. However, now that my budget is leaner, AND I’ve found these super-affordable products that are effective, I can’t really think of a reason to use the more expensive products anyway.Of course my routine will probably continue to evolve, especially if I need to incorporate more anti-aging products as I get older. But for now, this is working pretty well. And for that, I have all of you to thank, as you have been so helpful and informative! Here's my shelfie: https://i.imgur.com/o48hE8V.jpgSkin TypeCombination, sensitive skin with former rosacea & a former tendency to be oil rich/ congestedI came to the sub originally to find answers about why my skin was inconsistent, and initially I accidentally overdid things and harmed the moisture barrier. That left me with texture issues. Then I had to go about repairing that, and learning that just because a product works for someone else doesn't mean it will work for me. (Looking at you, Stridex + PC BHA.)Tools I learned about in this sub:Six-layer organic gauze washcloths (LOVE THESE so much)Silk Mini-Pillowcase (i sleep on a small bolster instead of a normal pillow)Diet FactorsVery little dairy (butter in my coffee each morning + cheese or St. Benoit plain yogurt no more than twice per week)NO nightshades, especially no tomatoesSalt water/ Mineral water dailyCurrent RoutineMorning, upon waking up —Wipe face with Cortas Lebanese rosewater (decanted into the frosted bottle) sprayed cotton padApply Kiss my Face sunscreen on face, neck, and back of handsDrink cup of coffee while waiting 10-15 minutesWalk dogsMorning, if showering (3 or 4 times per week) —Wash face with zinc soap while in shower to remove KMF sunscreen, dry immediatelyWash body with pure, handmade greek olive oil soapWipe face again w/ rosewater after getting out of shower to remove any soap residueMorning, if NOT showering (I only shower every other day because of sensitive Irish skin) —Wipe face with Cortas Rosewater several times to remove all traces of KMF sunscreenMorning, cont.Apply MUAC Lac Luronic (thank you to this sub for introducing me to it!)Apply Paula’s Choice Resist Super Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30(again thanks!)Thin layer of sheer foundation on cheeksThin layer of SPF and non-SPF powders (I mix several)Other make-up (light or dramatic, depending on the occasion)Evening, before bedWash face with Hado Lobo Gentle Hydrating Cleanser (decanted into silicon squeeze tube) (THANK YOU, SCA!)Wipe away all residue with Cortas RosewaterApply Actives + Moisture, depending on the day:[T] TO Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution +[T] TO Mandelic Acid 10% +[T] TO Natural Moisturizing Factors.[TH] Paula’s Choice Resist Soothing Treatment 5% AHA +[TH] Paula’s Choice Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer w/ Retinol +[TH] Thin Layer of Vaseline.[MWF] Instead of Actives, apply TO Marine Hyaluronics + a thin layer of TO Borage OilWeekend Treatments:[Sat or Sun] Pure Manuka Honey 16%, leave on for 30 minutes as mask + follow w/ TO Natural Moisturizing Factors — This is literally helping reduce my telangiectasia, which are tiny spider veins on apples of the cheeks common in fair-skinned people who have had rosacea in the past.[Sun Eve] TO AHA 30% + BHA 2 % Peeling Solution (6 mins)[Sun Eve] TO Marine Hyaluronics + a thin layer of TO Borage Oil[Sun Eve] VaselineSo that's about it! Thank you again for the help. I'll link back to this routine when I post my B&A. It's a dramatic difference, though I accept my skin will never be completely perfect. :)
