[Miscellaneous] Soap Substitution (I promise I'm clean)

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I attended a dermatology talk in September, on how to manage eczema. I have dry skin and I'll confess I don't spend enough time bathing in body butters and lathering myself in various body soufflés, although I always aspired to do that. However, that talk revealed a game changer with me, which I have been trying for the last almost-three months and wanted to share with you guys. The derm consultant leading the talk hadn't used conventional soap on his body for 20 years. Instead he washes with an emollient. He described in detail how detergents, including the really creamy moisturising ones, can have a disastrous impact on the acid mantle and compromise the skin barrier. I know we talk a lot about this on our faces but I never really took this idea seriously for my body.Until it tried it for myself! Easy routine - I diligently stand under the shower every day and soak for a minute or so, then massage the emollient into my skin, and it rinses away leaving me feeling like I'm a soft slippery meringue. The first couple of times I found it weird because of the lack of soap suds, but my skin is looking and feeling better than ever. I feel so fresh, soft and clean, and had compliments about my skin. I don't think I'll ever go back.Just wanted to put this out there to find out whether you guys are using, or have used emollients as soap substitutes to good effect. It isn't something I took seriously until I tried it for myself. For reference I am using Cetraben Cream, which I bought over the counter.TL;DR I washed with moisturiser and my flaky skin is now like whipped cream
