[Personal] [Pics] Why touching your acne can come back to bite you later even if you thought it's been resolved

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm 20/m and since I was 14 I've suffered from mostly deeper acne all over my face and all across my back.I'm not going to talk about how touching your acne can make it a lot worse, spread it, and damage it in the short-term (which it definitely did), but what can happen after a few years.I used to touch any blemish I thought was poppable until it popped, or bled too much. I wanted it off my skin as quickly as possible. And whenever I was successful, I found this got the developing acne off my face quicker than waiting for it to come to any head or let my body deal with it (as my acne was quite deep and would rarely surface). I was extremely lucky considering how many times I massacred my skin that I had minimal or no scarring, just some discolouration. Sometimes the same spots would reoccur annually, but still no scarring.First off, if this is you and you haven't visited a proper dermatologist. Do so immediately. After years, I finally went, got evaluated and recieved specific antibiotics (not Accutane surprisingly which I had another GP who only specialized in skin reccommend), and I haven't had a major infected spot I could pick since. It is critical you get treated ASAP, and you will understand why in my next point. After years of trauma to my face because of this acne and picking, I thought I was relatively well off for months. All bumps that remained from my acne picking flattened off after several weeks. Until one morning another bump on my forehead started forming. I let it do it's thing for a week until I tried squeezing it, but I realized this was not one I could pop through the skin. It got irritated and only grew in size. I was completely surprised as by this point I would always be able to pop it in some way. I let it be because it was just under my hairline and barely noticable. After a month, it was just a painless bump I didn't really care about. That was until my body decided that it was going to produce a mountain range on my forehead from previous acne spots. Within a few weeks my forehead looked like this. They have only been fluctuating in height and grew in diameter since.Because of previous and continuous acne trauma, my body formed cysts on my forehead. They have been here for half a year now and my dermatologist says they are here to stay. He will not take them out as he can cause scarring that isn't worth it. Not only does the junk causing the bump need to be removed, but the 'acne sac' needs to be cut out. The only path I should take if I want to get them out is through plastic surgery because of their location on my face, costing hundreds of dollars. And that doesn't prevent another bunch from showing up somewhere else in the future.TL;DR Don't pick at your acne. If you have deep swelling acne visit a doctor, otherwise the damage you cause underneath may always remain.
