[Misc] test your skin texture with the BACK of your finger(s)

Beauty Tips For Body Care
The pads of our fingertips are too sensitive to different textures. Testing skin texture with the front of your hands is like evaluating your skin health is a 10x magnification mirror. Not only is testing your skin texture with the back of your fingers better for your mental health, but it is the more accurate fashion of testing skin health. I was told this by a dermatologist who has been using this method to evaluate skin health for their entire career. If you can feel problems with the back of your finger, those are the most "severe" problems on your face. By severe, I mean those are the things that need to be cared for much more than minute details like shrinking pores or scarring which will improve over time on its own.For example, I have small bumps and closed comedones on my forehead. When I say small, I mean very, very small. Nobody else notices them whatsoever. Even I would not notice them if I didn't scrutinize my face all the time. When I run my finger's backside over my forehead, I don't feel those bumps. Therefore, those bumps aren't as much of a "problem" as my otherwise-unhealthy mental attitude towards skincare would make me feel. However, when I do the same on my chin, I can feel some scratchiness and dryness on two spots where I had pimples that I picked up. Therefore, I can tell that these spots are extremely dry and begging for moisturization and hydration. I'm going to run upstairs and put on some cream literally right now, now that I've run this experiment and found this out about myself.TL;DR: test skin health with the BACK of your fingers, NOT the pads of your fingers. The results will not only be better for your mental health, but better for your skin's health.Bonus: If you aren't scrutinizing your skin with the pads of your fingers, you are less inclined to pick and prod at every other thing you consider a flaw. A face with a few bumps and rough spots > an inflamed, bleeding, red face with a few bumps and rough spots you've picked at and peeled.I sincerely hope this helps you as much as it has helped me.
