Beauty Tips For Body Care
We all experience that moment, where we are scrolling our social media feeds or flipping through a magazine and suddenly we stop to stare at a photo of a very attractive individual. May they be a celebrity or an average influencer via the Internet, the one thing we admire the most is their skin.No pores, acne, scars, or flare ups of rosacea or eczema in sight. So smooth and glowing. Then, we instantly run to the mirror, study ourselves 2-inches too-close and play the dreaded comparison game, without considering how digitally altered that photo is. Even, in the movies we see and television shows we watch, the actors and actresses skin are glossed over by digital effects.Nothing is real as they appear.Which, is why we must work to resist the urge to fall into the trap of the psychological games the media attempts to screw with our mental picture of who we know we are. And that, my friends is not our skin. Or anything else, for that matter, that we experience on a daily basis that may be stressful and traumatic. It’s okay to express how you are feeling; your emotions are valid. Yet, it isn’t okay to allow anyone to manipulate them into thinking that you’re less human next to that person in Hollywood. That isn’t true at all. We all have blood running through our veins, hence, we all have something going on - internally and externally. So the next time you feel the need to erase away a blemish or smooth out your skin in a photograph, think about how, not only how you yourself will feel looking at it later on, but another person who is going through the same thing about their own skin.People of social media only show us what we want to see, not what really happens. I think it’s time to fix that. So, I challenge you: Take a selfie of yourself and post it with no filters. Be proud of who you are. 💗We are all human, and that is beautiful.
