Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello everyone, this is my first time posting! Sorry if I'm doing something wrong, please correct me if I'm doing so!My skin type: I have normal to dry skin, and in the wintertime and drier seasons my skin gets really I do experience mild flaking. My skin is prone to CCs (forehead area only), but I am happy to say that with my current routine, I rarely have this problem! My goals are primarily brightening and skin texture.Reviews:Kose Softymo Hyaluronic Cleansing Cream: I bought this cleansing cream on a whim because it was on sale. I don't wear makeup, but I can tell that its cleansing power isn't precisely the best; it requires around 4 minutes of intense massaging for it to get off all my sunscreen. The texture is not creamy nor gel-like, and is easy to massage and turns into an oil after a while. I did not notice any substantial changes from using this, and will not repurchase. 4/10Shiseido Senka Perfect Whip: I really enjoy this cleansing foam. It lathers really nicely, and it lasts a long time. It cleanses pretty well and has never caused any irritation or redness. It's also really cheap at my local Asian grocer, and leaves my skin feeling soft. However, it is a little dying and if I don't move onto the next step soon after, the area around my lips will start flaking. Oilier skin types may have a better experience than mine with this cleanser. Will be repurchasing, overall 8/10.The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Water: I use this cleansing water with Shiseido cotton pads in the morning to cleanse my face. Nothing particularly special about this cleansing water and it gets the job done. Smells soapy and has pretty good cleansing power. Overall probably will not repurchase (want to find a cheaper alternative), but a good product. 6.5/10.Rosette Gommage Peeling Gel Moist: My preferred method of exfoliation is through peeling gels with AHAs, and this one checks the boxes. Its name is slightly misleading; it's not moist, per se, and it is actually more on the drying side for me. I only use about a mung-bean size in order to prevent excessive drying of my skin. The good thing about this one is that it is quite gentle and suitable for when my skin starts acting up. Probably will not repurchase, overall 6.5/10.Faith in Face AHA Peel So Good Peeling Gel: I adore this peeling gel! It's less drying than my Rosette one and balls up much better too. It used to have a very faint stinging sensation (because of the AHAs, I think), but I don't feel it. Its texture is less slimy and a smidge bit runny. It was not drying and my skin always feels softer after use. Only con is that it does aggravate the area around my eyes, so I just avoid that area when using it. Very very good peeling gel and 100% will repurchase, if I can find it again. 9.5/10.Annie's Way Charcoal + Vit C Jelly Mask: I just got this two days ago and tried it for the first time yesterday, so I can't really say anything for long term effects. However, what I can say is that I work up this morning with very nice skin! It looks as if my pore shrunk and I was glowing! Now my skin is back to normal though. I guess I'll have to use this more often to see! Overall still don't know if I'll repurchase and ?/10, but from current results, seems like 9/10.Kikumasamune High Moisture Sake Lotion: I like this toner. It comes in a very economical 500mL bottle and has lasted me since April. Its pump is a little wack; it pumps really far, so I decant it into spray bottles (not pictured). It is moisturizing and helps my skin calm down when needed. Honestly, I don't think its brightening effects are that great or noticeable, but it did help a little with smoothing my skin texture. Overall probably will not repurchase (want to find a more effective toner), but good product. 7.5/10.Naris Up Vitamin C Skin Conditioner: Like the Kikumasamune, I do enjoy this toner. It was very affordable where I bought it, like $7/500mL and lasts a long time. It is not as moisturizing as I'd like, but it is moisturizing enough to let me dry my hair without my face feeling tight and dry. It, like the Kikumasamune, is very watery and this one has a very faint alcohol-y scent. Despite the claim that it is brightening, alone, it did not do anything, really, but when paired with Melano CC it helped quite a bit! Overall pretty good product for the price and will repurchase, if it's still $7. 7/10.Melano CC Essence: I adore this essence! My face tans really easily, and it sometimes religious SPF application and wearing a UPF 50 hat constantly, and it contrasts quite a bit with my neck. Though it hasn't completely eliminated the problem, Melano CC Essence has helped quite a bit. It has an oily yet thin texture and sinks in very fast. It smells strongly of yuzu or some kind of citrus, and hasn't caused any redness or anything. I really like the applicator; it has prevented oxidization and the liquid comes out clear as day. I did not see results super fast, maybe after 2-3 weeks I started seeing results. It does wonders on my PIH (I only have a little bit) and despite only being 20mL, it has lasted me quite a while (bought it a month ago and about 3/7 done). Overall very please and will be repurchasing. 9.5/10.CeraVe Moisturizing Cream: I bought this since lots of people seem to enjoy it, and I was pleased with it at first. It's huge and will definitely be used on more places than my face, and is very thick and rich. Weirdly, it has almost a matte finish to it, which I like. I got sunburned a little on my cheeks the day I bought this, and this didn't aggravate my skin and seemed pretty nice (it did feel like it was trapping in the heat a little, though). However, I did notice it aggregated minor breakouts on the forehead area, most likely from using this, but it works wonderfully on my cheeks. Overall will not be repurchasing, but had I not had a break out from it, I would have definitely repurchased. Overall 2/10.Goodal Watermelon Soothing Gel (not pictured): This is my summer, angry-red skin moisturizer. It is a clear-ish gel with a slight red tint and goes on very cool and sinks in nicely. It doesn't irritate sun damaged skin and is in a nice, 300mL tub. For hygiene reasons, I decant it into a tube. It's pretty cheap where I get it, too ($9) and I do enjoy it. As a moisturizer, I find that I have to reapply it multiple time a day to retain moisture. Since I prefer slightly richer moisturizers since my skin is drier, I don't use this in the winter. Right now, since my other moisturizer (the CeraVe) isn't working that well on my forehead, I use this on my forehead instead. Overall will repurchase (in the summer). 7/10.Altruist SPF 50: Very cool sunscreen. I was very interested in a European, high PPD sunscreen (I mostly used AB sunscreens, cheap and convenient for me), as all my previous sunscreens left me sunburned and with uneven tans. No thanks. Anyways, I was so touched that they donated a part of the profits to charities supporting those with albinism in Africa, and it was much more affordable than other high PPD European sunscreens, so I bought it. It, I must admit, is not as cosmetically elegant as AB sunscreens; it has a creamy texture that reminds me of toned-down whipped cream cheese, and is spreadable to a decent degree. It does have a white cast, but it fades away after a couple minutes (may not be ideal for darker skin tones, as I'm pretty light), but I do feel it every-so lightly on the skin and does have a slight oily sheen, especially after a hot day. I don't do heavy-duty things or play sports when it's super sunny, so I can't really say for those kinds of things, but from my experience, this has pretty amazing protection. I, occasionally get tanned/burned running minor errands with sunscreen on (I'm eyeing you, Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel), and none of that stuff has happened (so far; got it relatively recently). Overall a good, no-frills sunscreen with superior protection (from what I've seen). And the price. YES. Overall will be repurchasing, 9.5/10.Kanebo ALLIE Extra UV Gel: Love, love, LOVE this sunscreen. I've gone hiking, biking, played tennis, running, hours of errands outdoors, and vacationed with this sunscreen. It has superior protection and guarantees that I won't burn or tan. It is a thick, rich gel-cream texture that has a very slight white cast that becomes unnoticeable after about 5 minutes. It sinks in soon and doesn't leave a slight film (like the Altruist does). This sunscreen is literally perfect for me in the winter and prevents sunburn and windburn (I walk to and fro school, winters here are very cold). I also liked the Shiseido Anessa sun milk (the gold bottle one), but that one was far more drying and expensive. They offer very similar protection (I wore Shiseido to a water park for 5 hours, reapplied with Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel, which I've concluded does basically nothing for me, and no tanning nor burning), but I love the price and the texture of ALLIE so much more. Only con for this sunscreen is that it is expensive for me. eBay sells it for $16/90g, which doesn't seem that bad, but I am low-key broke (RIP me). Overall will definitely be repurchasing and a solid 9.75/10.JM Solution Marine Luminous Pearl Sun Stick: I got this pretty recently (like 1.5 weeks ago), and haven't worn it for any heavy-duty purposes yet. I was looking for a sun stick that had decent filters and a decent price on YesStyle, and particularly a sun stick because I wanted to reapply in school (teachers leave the windows open on a terribly sunny day. That sucks.) Last time I went to China, this brand was pretty popular, especially their masks and sun sprays, so I was ready to give this a shot. It is a deep turquoise color and slightly translucent and looks like a small deodorant stick, nice and convenient for me to be carrying around in school. Upon application, it feels quite like putting on a very even, thin layer of ointment and is a little too heavy and greasy for my liking. It has a weird smell, like some men's stuff. Its protection seems pretty good so far; it's prevented me from burning in class (yes, it's happened) and I have used it while running errands a number of times and it's help up with no burning or tanning (so far...). Seems like a nice and convenient way to get sun protection. Overall may repurchase if I can get it at the same price. 7/10.Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel (not pictured): Nope, nope, nope. I do not like this sunscreen. I bought the big 140g pump, but only ended using like 1/5 before giving it away. It is very comfortable on the skin, and sinks in very elegantly. It has an alcohol scent, but was not super drying, which I liked. I was getting along with this sunscreen very well until spring came, and so did higher UV indexes and longer daylight hours. I was getting tanned and burned all over my face walking to school and in school, even while using this and reapplying every hour (so awkward, having to reapply so often...). No thanks. Definitely not enough protection. Overall with most definitely NOT be repurchasing. A solid 0/10.Shiseido Anessa Sun Milk (gold bottle): I was very lucky to receive a little 20mL bottle of this for free, and I really liked this sun milk. It was quite drying, I will admit; I had to get down to some serious moisturizing after using this, so I did not use this as a daily sunscreen. However, when I was in China, going out every day, this was a lifesaver. Like I mentioned earlier, I wore this to a water park with virtually no other protection besides a massive UPF 50 hat (that I wear virtually everywhere I can) and no tanning nor burning at all. Very, very cool. Its filters may be the slightest, slightest tad better than my longtime HG ALLIE, as I do have to reapply ALLIE diligently to get the same results as the Anessa from one application. If I could, I would purchase the 90mL size, but like I've stated, it far exceeds my meager budget :(. If I'm rich one day, I will most definitely repurchase! Overall 9/10.Sorry for how long this is! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this and have a wonderful day!
