Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey guys and gals,I’m so puzzled.According to my mum, my skin has been termed sensitive since the day I was born. She has sensitive skin, on the dry side, too, so guess it’s genetic (?). However, I’m starting to wonder if I have a mild, somewhat moderate touch of rosacea. Perhaps type 1. I don’t want to diagnosis myself, that isn’t smart. Can’t help but think that I may have it, though. Or do I just have very sensitive skin, with hormonal breakouts? Is there any gentle way that I can “test” for it on my own, before I see my GP?I can’t afford a dermatologist nor do I want one because I feel as if they’re a waste of time and most just throw pills and topicals that make things worse, or barely look at you. My anxiety doesn’t - it doesn’t have time for that right now. Already have too much happening with my health in other areas to be bothered.“Symptoms”:Puffy eyes in the morning; they get irritated quite easilyWhen it’s exposed to hot or warm water, I’m around any type of heat like a fireplace, and if it’s the summertime and it’s really humid/hot outside, my skin flushes redIf I’m very embarrassed or shy or overly excited, my face again flushes and gets hot around my cheeks and neck areaMy nose can get pinky red sometimes, in heat or cold environments, or if I’m in an anxious situationMy skin is sensitive to a minority of ingredients in skincare products. If I use anything with fragrance, essential oils, witch hazel, alcohol denatured or alcohol, fatty alcohols and dimethicone (CeraVe), Rosehip Oil or Rose - it burns, breaks out / CCs, develops a rash (this happens now and then). It’s also dry as well, easily dehydrated if I’m not carefulOh, and sometimes, the slightest touch - even the most gentle - can leave my skin red for 15-30 minutesOther Things:I’m 24F from New England, USA (south Boston area) with pale, cool toned, dry, very sensitive skin.As of July 24, 2019, I was diagnosed with PCOS by a wonderful OBGYN. Since then I’ve been taking Spironolactone (50 mg) and Yasmin, so I have a while to go before I see any difference in my skin and hirsutism, etc. She also told me I have hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s disease.I have IBS and other gastrointestinal problems, but they’re being handled by a GI specialist and Linzess (which I will take, after the insurance company approves it🙄)Since I was about 12-13, I’ve dealt with genetic (maternal side) chronic depression and anxiety (social and situational). As of the age of 16, a psychiatrist diagnosed me with PTSD and a mild case of OCD (I become very obsessed over things; if things aren’t perfectly aligned or whatnot, I become upset and anxious).Any advice would be so welcome. As well as products that you love and trust, for a routine (cleanser, moisturizer, stuff for PIE and PIH and breakouts, sunscreen, etc). (I’m on a budget so nothing crazy expensive - $5-50 for each product, please.)
